The University of Nebraska was founded on February 15, 1869, less than two years after Nebraska became the nation's 37th state.

All incoming Freshmen must have-
4 years of High School English/Language Arts.
4 Years of High School Math including Algebra I and II, Geometry and one more additional advanced math class.
3 years of High School Social Studies including American History and American Government.
3 years of High School Science including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences.
2 Years of Foreign Language

All incoming Freshmen must have-
In addition to meeting the core class requirements, traditional freshmen students seeking admission to the University should:
be ranked in the upper one-half of their high school class, OR
have received an ACT composite score of 20 or higher*, OR
have received a SAT total score (Critical Reading and Math only) of 950 or higher*.
