HOW DO ANIMALS HELP IN THE DISPERSAL OF SEEDS???
3
SEA GRAPES RASBERRIES BILBERRIES
4
Raspberry Bilberry ∙these plants often surround their seeds with a brightly-coloured and sweet-tasting pulp to attract animals ∙red is one of the most common colours of fruits as it is a colour insects cannot see very well ∙elephants and birds eat the fruits and deposit the seeds in their droppings several miles away ∙the seed coat usually prevents the digestion of the seeds
5
Plants have limited mobility and consequently rely upon a variety of dispersal methods to transport their seeds
6
Examples of seeds using this method: Date Monstera
Birds also eat the fleshy fruits but they discard the seed immediately Monkeys eat figs and other fruit , carrying them Away while dropping others onto the ground In some cases, animals collect the fruits or seeds and bury them to eat later, but forget about them and the seeds start germinating because of this, the flowering plants to be the most successful type of plants on earth Examples of seeds using this method: Date Monstera

Seeds With Clinging Hooks or Spines
Entelia Sea Holly ∙many plants produce fruits or individual seeds covered in hooks or spines ∙they attach the seed onto the animal’s fur or feathers Examples of seeds using this method: Orlaya Cynoglossum Burr ∙burrs also stick to your socks and pants when you walk through grassy fields ∙many fruits of grasses have latches that cling onto creatures too
