Our aim is to end inequality in careers education.
WHO ARE CLASS CAREERS? We’re a social enterprise that connects young talent with big employers across the country. Quick Quiz: What is a social enterprise? Social enterprises trade to tackle social problems, improve communities, people's life chances, or the environment. They make their money from selling goods and services in the open market, but they reinvest their profits back into the business or the local community. Our aim is to end inequality in careers education.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? It’s only fair that everyone – no matter where you live, or where you go to school - gets the same, EQUAL, HONEST and FAIR advice no matter what. More information: Every school is different Statistics show that the farther away from big cities (i.e. London, Leeds, Birmingham) your school is located, the less engagement you have with employers. That means, less employer visits, less career-focussed open days, less opportunities for work experience. We didn’t think that was fair, and set about to change it.

DID YOU KNOW? 31 % of young people think they’ll only get a good job if they go to university Students are encouraged to guess the answers to these questions, before the answers are revealed. Show of hands: Who agrees with that statement? Open Question: What are the other routes to getting a ‘good job’? What is a good job? Money? Security? Personal development? Enjoyment? Travel?

DID YOU KNOW? 26 % of young people know about apprenticeships, what they can offer, and how they can be of value to them Students are encouraged to guess the answers to these questions, before the answers are revealed. Quick Quiz: What is an apprenticeship? An apprenticeship is a job with training. Being an apprentice means that you have a job that includes gaining recognised qualifications and essential skills whilst you are working and earning a wage. There are three types of apprenticeship: Foundation Apprenticeship, Apprenticeship and Higher Apprenticeship. Each one of these requires different qualifications, which is why there are three types. Show of hands: Who has heard of an apprenticeship?

DID YOU KNOW? 52 % of young people think that parents are their best source of information when it comes to careers Students are encouraged to guess the answers to these questions, before the answers are revealed. Show of hands: Who here has spoken to a parent or carer about careers advice? Who has spoken to another family member, ie. a sibling? Open Question: How did you find that advice? Was it helpful?
