Plastic lasts forever in the ocean, tin cans last 500 years. Sea life can be seriously harmed or killed by eating our rubbish.

14. In the Bible it says that God created us and wants us to rule over the other things he created. Ruling over something means we are responsible for looking after it.
You made man a little lower than the angels.
And you crowned him with glory and honour.
You put him in charge of everything you made.
You put all things under his control:
all the sheep, the cattle
and the wild animals,
the birds in the sky,
the fish in the sea,
and everything that lives under water.
