2 Producer An organism that can make its own food.
Examples: grass, trees, algae, phytoplankton A- Consumer

3 Consumer An organism that gets its energy from eating other organisms.
Example: herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, and scavengers A- producer

4 Herbivore Consumers that eat only plants
Examples: caterpillars, rabbits, and deer

5 Carnivore Consumers that eat only animals
Examples: Wolves, snakes, and walruses

6 Omnivore Consumers that eat both plants and animals
Examples: crows, humans, and bears

7 . Carnivore that feed on dead organisms
Scavenger . Carnivore that feed on dead organisms Example: catfish and vultures,

8 Decomposer organisms that break down biotic waste and dead organisms and return the material to the ecosystem. Example: mold, bacteria, and mushrooms

9 Food Chain A series of events in which one organism eats another and obtains energy. Example: plant→grasshopper →Red fox

11 Energy Pyramid A diagram that shows the amount of energy that moves from one feeding level to another in a food web.
