1 Repairing Homes. Restoring Hope.
Thanks so much Harriet! What a perfect story to illustrate how Allstate and the nonprofit sector can make an ideal match for an officer, both professionally - and standing for something the company truly believes in. It’s exactly what we know Board Service is all about. With that, I’m so pleased to be able to introduce to you Allstate’s official Officer Nonprofit Board Program. 1

2 Bring home repair services to homeowners
Repairing Homes. Restoring Hope. THE BUILD TEAM Our Mission Bring home repair services to homeowners Let homeowners remain in their homes Deliver volunteer opportunities to learn construction skills One of the most significant responsibilities of the board is to ensure the fiscal health and stability of the nonprofit. Most nonprofits expect 100% of their board to support their fundraising campaigns and consider it a requirement of board service. This both ensures the sustainability of the organization and also gives you a personal stake in seeing the nonprofit, and its mission, succeed. However, it’s true that you can “fundraise” a number of ways – nonprofits sometimes describe this financial requirement as a “give/get” – you can personally give, and you can get others to give. In addition to Allstate’s contribution (which is typically a grant OR support for their annual fundraiser), you could be asked: To make a personal contribution To build interest in nonprofit among friends, business associates To identify new individual, corporate, foundation funding sources 2

3 Repairing Homes. Restoring Hope. THE BUILD TEAM Who we are and What we do We are a Barrington-based nonprofit focused on helping families in Northwest Cook and surrounding counties, founded in 2014 We help clients, struggling with financial and personal burdens, by completing essential home repair projects that enable them to remain in the home they own We do the repairs at no cost to the family. With “mostly” free labor and discounted/reusable materials, we can do our repairs at very low cost One of the most significant responsibilities of the board is to ensure the fiscal health and stability of the nonprofit. Most nonprofits expect 100% of their board to support their fundraising campaigns and consider it a requirement of board service.
