7. Grading Scale
We are on a 6.0 point scale that translates to the following:
6.0 = 100
5.0 = 90
4.0 = 80
3.0 = 70
2.0 = 60
1.0 = 50
Example: = 87

8. Calculation
Based on the semester average and is calculated at the end of each semester
Takes about 3 weeks after the end of the semester for calculation to occur

9. Weighted Credit Pre-AP Classes earn an extra weight of 10 points
Points are only applied in the calculation – they do not appear on the report card or transcript.

After GPA’s are calculated they are placed in numerical order to determine rank
Students in the top 10% of their class are eligible for automatic admission to Texas public universities with the exception of University of Texas. UT is top 9% for the class of 2012.
