1 PPAC GPA Calculations

2 AU and Transfer Transcripts
Get copies of your AU transcript and transcripts for all other schools attended. Use MS Excel and format the worksheet and select landscape orientation so it will print on a single page.

3 Start with the Transfer Transcripts
Starting with the transfer transcripts, list courses in chronological order EXACTLY as shown on the transcript where the courses were taken. List all courses including those from which you withdrew, repeated or failed courses, dual enrollment courses, junior college courses or those taken abroad.

4 1. List advanced placement (AP), international baccalaureate (IB) and other courses with grades of S, U, W, P, Exempt, etc., at the top of the worksheet. 2. Put the course ID, course title, grade and hours earned as shown on the sample below.

5 1. In the next section, list biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics courses on the left side. Classify your courses according to the primary content of the course. A table in the AMCAS Instruction Manual shows typical classifications. Include the course ID, shortened course title, grade, hours and points as shown on the transcripts. List All Other (non-science) courses on the right using the same format. If you “gapped” a course, list the grade shown (XF), hours and points you would have earned without the gap.

6 1. Sum BCPM Points and BCPM Hours. Divide BCPM Points by BCPM Hours
1. Sum BCPM Points and BCPM Hours. Divide BCPM Points by BCPM Hours. This is the BCPM GPA. 2. Sum All Other Points and All Other Hours. Divide All Other Points by All Other Hours. This is the All Other GPA. 3. Add BCPM Points plus All Other Points and divide by the sum of BCPM Hours and All Other Hours. This is the Undergraduate GPA.

7 1. Complete the same steps for calculating the Postbac BCPM, All Other and Postbac Overall GPA.
2. Add undergraduate BCPM points and postbac BCPM points. Add undergraduate BCPM hours and postbac BCPM hours. Divide total BCPM points by total BCPM hours to calculate Cumulative Undergraduate BCPM GPA. 3. Add total undergraduate points and total postbac points. Add total undergraduate hours and total postbac hours. Divide total points by total hours to calculate Cumulative Undergraduate GPA.

8 Complete the same steps for calculating the Graduate BCPM GPA, Graduate All Other GPA and Cumulative Graduate GPA.
