4. History
The history of soccer back more than 2,000 years ago to ancient China, Greece, Rome.
More rules were implemented and more historical landmarks were set.
The penalty kick was introduced in 1891.
FIFA became a member of the International Football Association Board of Great Britain in 1913.
Red and yellow cards were introduced during the 1970 World Cup finals.
More recent major changes include goalkeepers being banned from handling deliberate back passes in 1992
Tackles from behind becoming red-card penalties in 1998.

Law 1: The Field of Play Soccer can be played on either grass or artificial turf, but the surface must be green in color.
Law 2: The Ball Soccer ball must be spherical in shape and made of leather or another comparable medium.
Law 3: The Number of Players Matches are generally played by two teams of 11 to a side. The goalkeeper is included in the 11-player total.
Law 4: The Referee The referee is the authority on the field, and his word is law.
Law 5: The Duration of the Match A soccer match is comprised of two 45-minute halves, with extra time added for each at the referee’s discretion.

FIFA was founded in 1904 to oversee international competition among the national associations of Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Headquartered in Zürich, its membership now comprises 211 national associations. Member countries must each also be members of one of the six regional confederations into which the world is divided:

In modern times, the rivalries between who the best player in the world is one of the worlds most debated arguments to this day
Lionel Messi (born 24 June 1987), often considered the best player in the world and rated by many in the sport as the greatest of all time. He is the only player in history to have one the prestigious FIFA Ballon d'Or 5 times, 4 of which he has one consecutively. He holds the record for most goals in a calendar year: 91 goals (2012)
Cristiano Ronaldo (born 5 February 1985), is regarded as one of the greatest of all time, Ronaldo was named the best Portuguese player of all time by the Portuguese Football Federation, during its 100th anniversary celebrations in He is the only player to win four European Golden Shoe awards. One of the most marketable athletes in sport, in 2016 Forbes named Ronaldo the world's best paid athlete.
