Objective: Learn to name and classify quadrilaterals.
2
A quadrilateral is a four sided figure.
We will learn about various types of quadrilaterals. The most common are the rectangle and the square. Then we have parallelograms, rhombuses, and trapezoids. A parallelogram has 2 pairs of parallel sides and 2 pairs of congruent sides. A rectangle is like a parallelogram with 4 right angles. The square has 4 right angles and 4 congruent sides.
3
Quadrilaterals… 4 equal (congruent) sides.
The trapezoid has only one pair of parallel lines. The rhombus is like a parallelogram with 4 equal (congruent) sides.

When finding the measure of unknown angles…
The sum of all angles in a quadrilateral add up to 3600. When they ask you to find the missing angle, you must add the 3 angles then subtract them from the total, which is 360 degrees. So, 106o + 131o+ 67o = 304o Then, 360 – 304 = 56o degrees.
