2 Be excited and zealous! Your excitement will be contagious
Excited to meet each week. Exciting events and activities Theme nights added throughout the year. Crazy Hair, Clash Night, Level Theme Night, Backwards Night, Crazy Tourist, Missionary Nights, etc. Refreshment nights added throughout the year. Snow Cones, Cookies, Hot Cocoa, Pizza, Hot Dogs Encourage your workers to share in the excitement Wear/Use logo products: shirts, banners, posters

3 Make it “special” Decorate the room for children – not for adults
Use of level themes (Defenders, Detectives, Developers, Discoverers) Use K4T colors Posters Free downloadable posters on EquipU site under Artwork Group Names Level Name or Group Name (Kings Knights, Warriors, Super Sleuths, etc.) Kid Friendly kid-sized chairs, tables, pencils, stickers. Safe atmosphere

4 Use natural instincts Younger children naturally want to outdo older children…older children do not want to be outdone by younger children…play it to your advantage. What level will win the review game tonight? What level will earn the most patches tonight? Boys verses Girls Review Game Memory Work

5 Show it is important to you
By rewarding children for memorizing their work. Use of patches show you are invested in the program. Use of points/bucks towards “extras”. Use of stickers for an immediate reward. By being an example to the children. Memorize the work yourself. Be accountable to the children with your memory work. By providing adequate time for children to learn and recite the memory work. By taking time to answer children’s question regarding their TruthBook work or memory work.

6 Use games effectively Be prepared with questions
Prepare questions while working on lesson or have a worker take down questions during the main teaching time. Use some questions from the memory work (Parallels Document makes this easy.) Be prepared with different techniques that meets the different learning styles Visual, Auditory, Kinetic (hands on) Be prepared with game Set up game or have game supplies ready before class Be varied in the games you use: do not use the same game each time

7 Use incentives, points, and rewards
Small pieces of candy As an immediate reward: m&ms, skittles, jelly beans, etc. Check with restaurants in the area for free coupons Stickers younger kids love these Small prizes/toys Larger prizes/toys Earn with points Earn by doing review units Points – are free! Use them to your advantage. 1000 points better than 1 point

8 Reward for excellence Give special incentives, points, and rewards to encourage good study/learning skills or habits. Attendance and Responsibility Studying during small group time Studied at home during the week Came ready to recite (did not have to study before reciting) Small piece of candy for each Q&A recited Immediate reward Sticker for each unit completed

9 Use memory techniques (see Top Effective Memory Techniques PPT)
“You Say What I Say.” (Verbal Simon Says) Hand Signals/language Games Clapping Leave words out…who can fill in the blank Race to the front of the room & answer fill in the blank

10 Be sensitive to needs Know when to change the activity
