Wel- come to the guitar world

Guitar The guitar is a string instrument which is played by plucking the strings. The main parts of a guitar are the body, the fretboard, the headstock and the strings. Guitars are usually made from wood or plastic. Their strings are made of steel or nylon. The guitar strings are plucked with the fingers and fingernails of the right hand (or left hand, for left handed players), or a small pick made of thin plastic. This type of pick is called a "plectrum" or guitar pick Guitars are used for many types of music, from Classical to RockMost guitars have six strings, but there are also guitars with four, seven, eight, ten, or twelve strings. More strings make the instrument sound fuller.

Acoustic guitar An acoustic guitar is a guitar that produces sound acoustically—by transmitting the vibration of the strings to the air—as opposed to relying on electronic amplification (see electric guitar). The sound waves from the strings of an acoustic guitar resonate through the guitar's body, creating sound.
5
An electric guitar is a fretted stringed instrument with a neck and body that uses a pickup to convert the vibration of its strings into electrical signals. The vibration occurs when a guitarist strums, plucks, fingerpicks, or taps the strings Electronic guitar

Electro-Acoustic guitar
An Electro-acoustic Guitar is an acoustic guitar fitted with a magnetic pickup, a piezoelectric pickup or a microphone. ... The design is distinct from a semi- acoustic guitar, which is an electric guitar but with the addition of sound chambers within the guitar body.

Twelve-string guitar The twelve-string guitar is a steel-string guitar with twelve strings in six courses, which produces a richer, more ringing tone than a standard six-string guitar. Typically, the strings of the lower four courses are tuned in octaves, with those of the upper two courses tuned in unisons.

Archtop guitar An archtop guitar is a hollow steel-stringed acoustic or semi- acoustic guitar with a full body and a distinctive arched top, whose sound is particularly popular with jazz, blues, rockabilly and psychobilly guitarists. Typically, an archtop guitar has: 6 strings. An arched top and back, not a flat top and back.

Steel guitar Steel guitar is a type of guitar or the method of playing the instrument. Developed in Hawaii in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A steel guitar is usually positioned horizontally; strings are plucked with one hand, while the other hand changes the pitch of one or more strings with the use of a bar or slide called a steel (generally made of metal),

Resonator Guitar A resonator guitar or resophonic guitar is an acoustic guitar that produces sound by carrying string vibration through the bridge to one or more spun metal cones (resonators), instead of to the sound board (guitar top). ... Square- necked guitars played in lap steel guitar style.

Bass guitar The bass guitar (also known as electric bass, or bass) is a stringed instrument played primarily with the fingers or thumb, by plucking, slapping, popping, strumming, tapping, thumping, or picking with a plectrum, often known as a pick.

Guitalele There is nowadays also a small guitar with the size of a tenor ukulele, with 6 single strings, called guitalele, which is tuned like a 6 string guitar, but of course much higher.
