10 Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)
Residents of WICHE states may enroll at participating two- and four-year college programs outside of their home state at a reduced tuition rate. WICHE states include: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming. All students should take “a-g” requirements, especially MATH if they wish to be in a Transfer Program DUSD Concurrent Enrollment Program for 10-12 graders-earn HS and College credit LPC Early Admissions Program Transfer Programs/AA & AS/Certificates Average cost $1400/year No SAT or ACT testing required *

13 CCC Transfer Agreements
LPC has TAGs with 9 California State Universities and 6 University of California campuses. In addition, agreements are in place for ASU, Univ. of AZ and HI, University of the Pacific, St. Mary’s College, and HBCs LPC has Concurrent Enrollment Programs with CSUEB and UC Berkeley *

14 Trade/Technical Schools
Specialty schools such as California Culinary Academy, Dublin Beauty College All have different entrance requirements - check with admissions All have financial aid available as well *

15 PSAT 11/NMSQT PSAT 11 at DHS on Saturday, October 15 from 8 am- 12:30 pm. Sign up in Student Activities. Cost is $25 or fee waivers are available Juniors must take this PSAT to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Results night in December Free test prep on Khan Academy *

16 ACT/SAT All colleges accept either/both tests
Official testing starts in Spring and goes through December of senior year Try both tests and decide which one is best for you-that is the one to prep/retest SAT II Subject Tests- recommended for STEM majors- Math Level II and science *

17 What should I be doing now???
Visit campuses/attend Open Houses and sign up in Career Center to hear college presentations from admissions representatives Attend Tri-Valley College Fair at Foothill HS on October 12 & attend Financial Aid Night at DHS on Nov. 16 Attend Prep for College Part II on March 22/ Take the College Majors Scorecard in English 3 Start thinking about what you are looking for in a school/program- see handout for criteria *

18 What should I being doing now?

19 What should I be doing now???
Earn the strongest grades possible through summer after junior year If wishing to attend a four-year college, make sure to remediate any D/F grades in courses that have a (P) on your transcript Take SAT and/or ACT multiple times in the Spring (single best sitting vs. superscore) Consider taking test prep course (possibly from Catalyst or Revolution Prep) *
