“And everyday she lives out another love song, It’s a tearful lament of somebody done wrong, Well how can you miss what you’ve never possessed, Miss Macbeth?”
This selection of the song “Miss Macbeth” questions Lady Macbeth’s desire for power. While power is obviously important to her, it is odd that she desires that power so intensely. The song says “How can you miss what you’ve never possessed?”, which shows that she is being both jealous and greedy. If she had power and lost it, it would make sense that she craved getting that power back. However, she doesn’t seem to have ever had power in the first place. Clearly, she is “somebody done wrong” because she ends up without power, crazed, and dead as a result of this.
