Brick by brick Growth Zone endorsed by Government and awarded £7m revenue grant Place Review Panel concept launched Work started on the Fairfield site Progress on the Local Plan New Addington Community & Leisure facilities District Centre Regeneration

3 PRIORITIES Delivery of affordable housing
Adoption of the Croydon Local Plan Growth Zone moving into full delivery mode: Developing partnerships with stakeholders Preparing business plans Refining the critical infrastructure list needed to support the growth of the COA Ensuring Planning and Place teams remain innovative Decent Homes

4 PRESSURES & CHALLENGES
Retention and recruitment of high quality staff at all levels Continued pressure on Department and Service budgets Continued changes to the planning legislation Public concern at implications of growth Housing & Planning Bill

5 Neighbourhood Planning and Infrastructure Bill
Since the Neighbourhood Planning and Infrastructure Bill was announced in the May Queen’s speech the ‘Infrastructure’ element has been dropped Government now progressing the Neighbourhood Planning Bill. To include detail on; Neighbourhood planning, Planning conditions , The Compulsory Purchase Order procedure. 

6 Consultation on Croydon Local Plan: (Preferred and Alternative Options)
Proposed Submission publication of Croydon Local Plan Submission of Croydon Local Plan to the Secretary of State Independent examination by a planning inspector Adoption of Croydon Local Plan, subject to approval by the Planning Inspectorate THE LOCAL PLAN 6 November - 18 December 2015 5 September - 17 October 2016 December/January 2016 Spring/Summer 2017 Winter 2017

7 HOUSING MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS
12 Apprenticeships in place for 14/15 Commitment for 14 apprenticeships for 15/16 17 work placements completed for 15/16 Programmed engagement with six schools carrying out mock interviews Responsive Repairs | Axis Europe

8 RIGHT TO BUY 135 RTB completions in 2015/16
Rent arrears 98.2% collection rate 130 major adaptations in Council stock Successful community clean up days

9 LANDLORD LICENSING SCHEME
26,964 completed applications since implementation Prevention of homelessness in 68 cases 297 improvement notices served

10 EMPTY PROPERTIES 2015: Council launched campaign, since then:
108 flats and 29 houses… …have been brought back into use for Croydon families needing homes
