Use the Roald Dahl book you have read and complete the worksheet. Print it off and glue it into your reading workbook.

4 Getting Started... Your challenge is to:
Design a poster for an important idea of this book. Think about the message or theme of your story. What is the story mainly about? Was there an important character in this story? What is the message or theme? How could you tell other people, in a poster, about the message or theme of the story? Which words and images will you use to convey this important idea from the story or an aspect of a character? Use Publisher to create your poster. Save it in your “Saved Work” folder.

5 Think Deeper... Think about why you used particular words and images in your poster. Write an explanation about the choices you made by clicking here and completing the worksheet. Save it into your “Saved Work” folder. Print it and glue it into your reading activity book.

Going Further... Imagine you are a film director who wants to make a short animated video clip about this part of the story. Think carefully about the key event, a moment when we learned something about a character, a moment in time in the story which conveyed an important idea. Create a storyboard of no more than frames which shows the key event or where we learn something important about a character. Click here for a storyboard template to print off. Glue it in your book once you are done. Click here to see an example of a storyboard.

7 Taking Action... Illustrate each picture on your storyboard using paint. Save each picture as a jpeg file. Once you have completed, import these pictures into Movie Maker our photo story to make an animated version of your story. Make sure you put a title into your video. Will you record your voice?
