Students want to be cool above everything else! It is the ultimate embarrassment for them to walk into the right room. --A student was standing in front of my door after lunch one day. I asked him if the door was locked because I didn’t remember locking it. He said “I don’t know! I didn’t want to try and get embarrassed if it was locked!”

6 Who is this teacher as a person?
Things that I enjoy: --Reading --Talking to family and friends --Technology!! --Computers --Book --Students enjoy knowing that you are a REAL person! Sharing this type of information breaks down the invisible wall between the teacher and the student. It lets them know that you are a regular person who enjoys regular things outside of school.

8 What are the rules in this classroom?
BE COURTEOUS: Respect yourself and others. BE PREPARED: Arrive to class on time, ready to work, and bring necessary materials. Keep off the teacher’s area and its components. Class is dismissed by teacher, not the bell.

9 Special Guideline This classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. That means that there will be no whining, for ANY reason. Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please respect the “No Whining Zone” this semester.

20 Cheating and Late work * CHEATING/PLAGIARIZING: Cheating/copying is NOT tolerated in my class! There will be parent contact and a zero will be given for that assignment.  * LATE WORK: I WILL ACCEPT LATE WORK, BUT IT WILL COST YOU! The HIGHEST grade you can make is a 70! Late work will not be accepted after the assignment has been graded and passed out. ALWAYS HAND IN ALL WORK! Zeros, incomplete work, and late work are the most common reasons for loss of credit

21 Hall Pass/ Cell Phones * HALL PASS: Going outside of the classroom is not permitted during class time (i.e. no library, computer lab, counselor’s, book room) unless it is an emergency. There is NO requirement that a student must be given a hall pass. Hall passes are a PRIVILEGE! ELECTRONIC DEVICES: cell phones are not allowed. If electronic device is used for ANY REASON when not permitted, the device will be confiscated.
