Clarity The guidelines require the academic writing to be clear, organized, concise and consistent in tone. Uniformity APA formatting gives uniformity to the presentation: Specifications for font, margins, headers, in-text citations, and references. Credibility The reader can easily verify information given in in-text citations and references. Plagiarism APA give clear directions on the use of quotes and paraphrasing and forbids plagiarism.
