1 General Lab Rules and Procedures
Columbian High School Family and Consumer Science

2 Procedures: Tie back long hair, bring your own hair ties.
Take chairs down off tables. Wash hands with soap and warm water, dry with paper towel. Remove items that could interfere with the success of the lab.

3 Procedures: Gather measuring utensils, bowls, and any other utensils needed to measure out ingredients. Place on tray and come to the supply table. Measure out ingredients ACCURATELY. READ YOUR RECIPE CAREFULLY! Work quickly, efficiently, cleaning up as you go.

4 Procedures: Prepare food according to the recipe; presentation is important. Wash, dry, and put all utensils away in the correct location according to the labels on the drawers/cupboards. Use a dishcloth or scrubbing pad for washing and a dish towel for drying only dishes and utensils. Note the location of the fire extinguishers.

5 Rules: Do not sit on the kitchen counters.
Absolutely no throwing of any kind of objects including towels, wash clothes, and garbage. Consequence of misbehavior during lab: detention or class removal, zero for the lab, may not participate in future lab.

6 Rules: Stay in your own kitchen during lab.
Everyone must help with cleanup. No one leaves the kitchen until it has been inspected and meets teacher approval. No food leaves the kitchens. No late passes will be given. Be cooperative and respectful at all times. Always use safe and sanitary practices.
