What is a business? How do we define a business? What are its main characteristics? What makes a good business? Use your own experiences to discuss these questions as well as using course materials

Stakeholders: Think of some organisations in your context and identify the principal stakeholders Highlight whether they are internal or external stakeholders What are their ‘stakes’ in the organisation? What conflicts are there between stakeholders’ interests? Do the same for your own organizations

What are the influences on it from the external environment? Use the STEEP model as a framework for analysis Newspaper/ magazine article concerning a small business Groups 3 to 4 – each member tells the others about their chosen business Choose one business from the group and do a STEEP analysis Report back key points Similarities and differences John C Jackson

TMA Marks Each TMA is marked out of 100 TMA01 = 50% of TMA marks
= 100% / 2 = 50% Examination = marked our of 100 100 / 2 = 50% Total assessment = TMA marks + Examination Marks = 100% (possible)
