4. ACHIEVEMENT Cervical cancer screening project started in 2013
National Strategic Plan for Prevention and Control of NCD adopted
Draft National Multisectoral Action Plan for Prevention and Control of NCD developed
Framework Convention on Tobacco Control implementation enforced
Treatment services for diabetes, cardiology, and oncology
Peer education for diabetes in communities established
WHO Package of Essential NCD Intervention for Primary Health Care adapted and introduced in 2014

5. CHALLENGES Engagement of non-health sectors in NCD prevention.
Limited national budget for NCD intervention.
Human resources, drug and other medical supplies for NCD program.

6. LESSON LEARNT
NCDs become one of priority programs of the Ministry of Health.
Tobacco smoking has realized by Royal Government of Cambodia.
Model diabetes care at provincial level established.
Addressing on other NCD risk factors such as unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and harmful use of alcohol is slowly progress

7. NEXT STEP
Finalize National Multisectoral Action Plan for Prevention and Control of NCDs
Establish coordination mechanism to oversee the implementation of National Multisectoral Action Plan for Prevention and Control of NCDs
Establish salt reduction program.
Strengthen health promoting school program addressing on NCD-related nutrition.
Increased tax for tobacco.
Scale up NCD prevention and control for PHC especially CVD prevention and cervical cancer screening.
Introduce HPV vaccine in the national immunization program.
