SUMMARY
Sagar hospital –DSI, Bangalore is the first hospital in the state of Karnataka to be certified by NABH SAFE- I for hospital infection control. Our endeavors like Continued, ongoing, documented patient/environmental surveillance for prevention of hospital acquired infections sustained with regular training for all HCW’s(Health care worker’s) and audits have gone a long way in patient safety. Further good sterilization & disinfection practices, usage of patient safety devices, bundle care check lists , timely patient isolation practices /facilities, patient information leaflets regarding infection control, conducting public awareness during outbreak situations have all added to our efforts in successfully decreasing the hospital acquired infection rates and overall improvement in providing quality care for patients.
