Topic: Should a child be taken from the home of an abusive parent, or should parents have the right to raise their child the way they see fit (chapter 6) Write a short, argumentative essay on one of the topics brought up in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Your writing should be 4 paragraphs, the structure should be what follows: Introduction—hook, bridge, thesis Your stance—Where do you fall on the topic and why? The opposing stance—Why would someone fall on the other side of the topic and why? Conclusion—Restatement of thesis and touch on major points All paragraphs should be 5-7 sentences. Use at least one example from the novel to support one side of your claim Avoid personal pronouns (I, we, us, our, etc.) Avoid contractions (can’t, won’t, isn’t, etc.)
