The 19th Amendment in 1920 gave women the right to vote TN vote made the “Perfect 36” to pass the amendment. Gov. Albert Roberts called a special session to vote on the change. Harry Burns – last to vote and vote that pushed the verdict.

New hairstyles, clothing styles, and cosmetics gained popularity The term “flappers” was coined for women who boldly adopted the chic new fashions.

The Great Migration Thousands of African Americans fled poverty, racial discrimination, and limited educational opportunities in the South to settle in northern cities.
