Monitoring is a systematic collection of information on all aspects of the project life, when the project is being implemented. It can be divided into internal monitoring & external monitoring.
Internal Monitoring: Staff performance, planned vs actual expenditure, procurement procedures
External Monitoring: Planned vs actual activities, timely implementation of activities, targeted beneficiaries vs actual beneficiaries

Group 1 – What is Evaluation?
Evaluation is a systematic and objective assessment of ongoing and completed projects. It makes comparison of the project outcomes with planned ones.
Group 2 – Why do we do Evaluation?
To ascertain whether the project has achieved its intended objectives
Provide recommendations for the improvement on the future course of the project as well as lessons learned for other projects
Group 3 - Who does Evaluation?
Project Manager or assigned project staff can conduct internal evaluation, and donor or consultants can conduct external evaluation.
Group 4 – When do we do Evaluation?
Periodically, mid-term, at the end of the project (final evaluation) and years after the completion of the project (post-evaluation)
