2 HP Indigo 5600 Digital Press
The HP Indigo 5600 Digital Press produces commercial print with Indigo’s top quality as well as high-value specialty jobs. Based on the affordable and proven HP Indigo press 5500, it’s a perfect fit for PSPs with medium volumes and a diverse job mix. Built on a proven platform HP Indigo quality Productive, flexible printing HP Indigo’s superior liquid ElectroInk technology makes Indigo print interchangeable with offset and photo applications Capable of printing well over 2 million color pages or 5 million mono pages per month The HP Indigo 5600 is based on the proven success of the HP Indigo 5500 bringing extended capabilities to existing customers Widest substrate range Prints on synthetics Opens new invisible ink applications More than 2500 certified substrates the widest variety of applications and substrates in the industry HP Indigo ElectroInk Invisible Red adds capabilities for new business opportunities Productive, high quality printing on synthetic substrates using HP Indigo One-Shot process

3 What’s new on the 5600? Enhanced Productivity Mode New line screens
90 ppm at lower cost New line screens Improved print quality New ICC Profile Improved print quality New imaging oil system Improved filtering, diagnostics and easier maintenance One Shot Color Printing on synthetics Invisible ink New range of applications Feeder & stacker improvements Higher reliability and productivity New sensors Printing on dark and transparent substrates

4 HP Indigo quality HP Indigo’s superior liquid ElectroInk technology makes Indigo print interchangeable with offset and photo applications ElectroInk and the Indigo process deliver crisp linework, attractive images and smooth vignettes The very thin ink layer gives uniform gloss between ink and substrate Up to 7 ink stations, allowing use of extended color gamut, ElectroInk White and other special colors and effects 4, 6 or 7 process colors for vivid printing and accurate on-press Pantone emulations True spot colors, mixed off press, for perfect Pantone-certified solids

5 Enhanced Productivity Mode (EPM)
Increase color productivity by 33% and lower costs EPM technology omits the black ink separation and prints color 33% faster using only three color separations—cyan, magenta and yellow. In EPM, Indigo presses print high quality and reach a wide color gamut including black. Overall ~14% lower click charge per page pushing the breakeven point vs. offset even higher. Switch between EPM and CMYK mode at the click of a button on the print server. HP Indigo technology delivers very high print quality at a high printing speed. Now, the new Enhanced Productivity Mode option on HP Indigo digital presses enables you to increase color printing speed by a further 33%. EPM prints faster by using fewer color separations, reducing production costs and increasing your profitability.

6 Print quality in EPM CMYK CMY
To the untrained eye, it will be difficult to distinguish between prints produced with CMY and CMYK. Some 90% of the color gamut can be produced in EPM. This usually has no or little impact on most jobs. Black, clear text as small as 7 pt can be printed in EPM, which is suitable for most commercial applications. CMYK CMY With the naked human eye, it is usually difficult, if not impossible, to distinguish between prints produced with CMY and CMYK. The tonal reproduction on the printed piece is nearly identical thanks to sophisticated color algorithms. EPM can cover 90% of the color gamut. This might have no impact or limited impact on most jobs.

7 Job types printed successfully in EPM

8 Printing on synthetics
High-value applications produced on synthetic substrates using HP Indigo’s One Shot Color technology One Shot Color process Color separations collected on the blanket Transferred to substrate in one pass, avoiding multiple impressions on the impression drum Minimize substrate deformations Accurate registration Print on a wide range of substrates PVC PET Teslin® PC

9 Expand application range with synthetics
Plastic cards Overlays Lenticular Point of sale Mouse pads Placemats And much more…

10 Ultra Thick Substrate option Enables printing on opaque PVC materials up to 600 micron/ 24 pt.
Opens new applications for mono-core plastic cards and more. Significantly lowers energy costs—lower temperature and shorter time needed during the card pressing process, Lower labor costs—no need to solder 2 cores. Faster time to market. Requires customers to have (or order) a Thick Substrate Kit and One Shot options as a prerequisite. The Kit will be an available option for new sales or aftermarket and can be installed at the customers site.

11 Ultra Thick Substrate option - Media
When printing on 600 micron/ 24 pt. PVC in One Shot mode, the media must be pre-primed. It is recommended to use 24 pt. GPA. Manual reinsertion only support (no automatic duplex). The 600 micron/ 24 pt job source can be in drawer 1 or/ and 2 and job destination is either proof or trash bin. Please consult regional category manager before sale.

12 Ultra Thick Substrate option – watch out
This option is not applicable for folding carton applications Even with the Ultra Thick Substrate option the Indigo 5600 is not a pure Indigo s2000 replacement. Not all 600 micron/ 24 pt PVCs certified for the Indigo s2000 are certified for the Indigo 5600 with the Ultra Thick Substrate option. The production flow should be pretty similar.

22 New supplies – to increase press productivity
Imaging Oil system The new system will leave the imaging oil in the reservoir clear from ink particles, and will include 2 x 2µm filters Increased press productivity and uptime by increasing PIP and Blanket LS and reducing the IO replacement to a minimum Improved heat exchanger performance reducing operator interference PIP Underlayer PIP Underlayer removal is easier and a simple cleaning is needed. Replacement is reduced from approx. 3 hours to about 20-30min. The installation process is now simplified and can be done by a single operator

23 Back up

24 Talking points The Indigo 5500 and 5600  installed base stands on 1500 presses WW, 180 out of them are Indigo 5600 (and total of about 2500 with the Indigo 5000) Customers are extremely satisfied with their HP Indigo series 2 press on all levels  The main benefit that the customers see is the versatility of the press Many of the new features are catching up quickly: EPM, One shot mode, UV red ink - Customers print more that 50% of their jobs in One shot mode for plastic applications such as cards, placements, signs, bookmarks, coasters etc’ Customers print more that 50% of their jobs in EPM; This also assist us in combating entry level competitors Customers find the lenticular as an interesting high margin opportunity Wincraft (Minneapolis) owner is extremely satisfied by the press in general, its stability, capabilities and options. Some quotes:  “I can print in 2 hours what I wasn’t able to do in full shift on both Indigo s2000 & 3050” “Nothing we couldn’t do on the press, substrate wise” “In compare to the Indigo S2000 is coming from a junk car to a Cadillac” “More satisfied by the Indigo 5500 than the s2000 due to better quality, usability and white opacity”
