People don’t usually go to the hospital, and they very rarely die of Zika

7. Guillain-Barré syndrome
Definition: GBS is a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system.
Isn’t contagious, strikes some people and not others.
Symptoms:
Varying degrees of weakness or tingling sensations in the legs.
When severe, the person is almost totally paralyzed.
Life threatening condition.

How to protect yourself 1.Do not travel to areas with Zika 2. If you must travel, talk to your doctor or other healthcare provider first and take steps to plan to travel. If your sex partner travels to an area with Zika, protect yourself from getting Zika through sexual intercourse 3. Use Insect Repellent; Use Environmental protection agency (EPA)- registered agents with one of the active ingredients below. When used as directed, EPA- registered insect repellents are proven safe and effective, even for pregnant and breastfeeding women. 4. Always follow the product label instructions. 5. Reapply insect repellent as directed. 6. Do not spray repellent on the skin under clothing.

10. Treatment
There is no specific medicine or vaccine for Zika virus, But we can do the following:
Treat the symptoms
Get plenty of rest
Drink fluids to prevent dehydration
Take medicine such as; Paracetamol to reduce fever and pain
Do not take aspirin and other non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) until dengue can be ruled out to reduce the risk of bleeding
If you are taking medicine for another medical condition, talk to your healthcare provider before taking additional medication
