When a person is forced to leave their country due to circumstance we call that a Push Factor Pull: When a person moves to another country because there is something there that will make their life better, we call that a Pull Factor

Security Factors Factors dealing with decisions based on the need for a feeling of safety Includes Criminal Records, engaging in Terrorism, belonging to known terrorist groups, etc War or gang violence Treatment of females, homosexuals, etc Canada’s modern Imm. & Refugee Protection Act can deny an immigrant access to Canada if they pose a threat to Canada’s safety.
