4 HotZone Duo – Value Propositions
Cost-effective Industry leading cost/performance/scalability Single radio: Target MSRP: $1,650 Dual radio: Target MSRP: $1,950 Higher throughput for the same amount of backhaul Leverages Motorola’s Mesh Scalable Routing (MSR) technology Full interoperability with Canopy, including Canopy PoE Investment Protection Upgradeable to IEEE meshing (802.11s) draft standard Interoperability with other mesh standards compliant Wi-Fi APs Can leverage future IEEE standards enhancements & improvements Can pick best of breed products to minimize cost & maximize performance One of the smallest, lightest form factors on the market Minimizes visual impact, improves community acceptance Increases mounting possibilities, better able to optimize deployment Low power consumption Cost Effective: Industry leading cost/performance/scalability ½ the cost of leading single radio solution. It leverages proven Mesh Scalable Routing (MSR) Technology Layer 2 routing offers faster Route convergence, Healing, Hand-offs Higher throughput for the same amount of backhaul With single radio solutions, only ½ of the total capacity is used for client access, while the other ½ is used for backhaul. The clients do not enjoy the total available throughput. With HotZone Duo dual radio solution, one radio is dedicated for client device access and other to backhaul. This provides increased throughput to the clients and/or allows more clients to acquire access. With dual radio solutions, latency is reduced dramatically to enjoy streaming video and/or VoIP applications. Full interoperability with Canopy, including Canopy PoE Simplifies deployment No need for separate power supply to run Canopy With Canopy integration, no need to bring expensive backhaul to APs, where a wired backhaul does not exist. Investment Protection: Interoperability with other mesh standards compliant Wi-Fi APs Supports numerous IEEE standards for wireless broadband. Can leverage future IEEE standards enhancements & improvements Can pick best of breed products to minimize cost & maximize performance Interoperate with other vendor devices (gateways, WRs, APs) Mix and match different elements to build the best of the best networks Smallest/Lightest form factor: Increases mounting possibilities, better able to optimize deployment Low power consumption

5 HotZone Duo – Value Propositions
Simple to deploy and optimize with MeshPlanner™ Reduces deployment time and cost Optimizes backhaul based on user densities & application requirements Easy to monitor, manage and maintain Leverages powerful & proven MeshManager element mgnt. system Supports Over The Air (OTA) software upgrades Open APIs for integration into network mgnt systems (ex: Openview) One stop shop for complete citywide Wi-Fi solution Indoor & outdoor APs, high performance CPE, Canopy for complete network Powerful suite of deployment and management tools Designed, built and backed by Motorola Award winning installation, support and service Fortune 100 company with worldwide sales of $36.8B in 2005 Winner of “2005 National Medal of Technology” – highest technical honor Deployment Flexibility: Reduces deployment time and cost MeshPlanner offers high degree of accuracy in planning the number of APs and WRs required in a deployment. Repeatable/scalable process allows for consistent design and leverages centralized design team experts. Reduce repeat trips with predictive design planning Optimizes backhaul based on user densities & application requirements MeshPlanner’s predictive design factors in impact of terrain and metropolitan density to determine the optimal number of APs and WRs. Manage & Monitor easily: Leverages powerful & proven MeshManager element mgnt. System Manages configuration, performance, fault mitigation and security for Motorola Mesh Networks. Java-based GUI affords point-and-click tools. Device Manager allows you to add and configure all mesh nodes from any secure LAN connection Manage workflow automation and OTA. Supports Over The Air (OTA) software upgrades using MeshManager Open APIs for integration into network mgnt systems (ex: Openview) Supports Industry standard MIPS One Stop-shop: Indoor & outdoor APs, high performance CPE, Canopy for complete network Powerful suite of deployment and management tools Motorola designed, built and backed: Award winning installation, support and service Fortune 100 company with worldwide sales of $36.8B in 2005 Winner of “2005 National Medal of Technology” – highest technical honor

6 HotZone Duo – Software Features
Full i (WPA2) Security Model Multiple SSIDs with VLAN mapping Supports wholesale business model Enterprise-class features: Port Filtering Broadcast Storm filtering 802.11e QoS SNMPv3 Secure Remote Management MeshManager Element Management System Remote Automated Firmware Updates Secure Shell Telnet Full 80211i (WPA2) security model: Latest and most sophisticated security protocol Backward compatible with WEP and WPA protocols. Multiple SSIDs with VLAN mapping: Configuration of various client groups: Allows own private network Allows individual municipal agencies to create their own virtual private network Can be administered separately from different user groups Running multiple user groups allows to maximize return on investment – leverages capex and common opex across several user groups. Port Filtering & Broadcast storm filtering: Each node individually filters broadcast storms at the port when errors or network loops exceed threshold levels. The switch will block such storms until the rate falls below the threshold levels. Controls broadcast, unicast and multicast storms. 802.11e QoS: Enables service providers to optimize for delay-sensitive applications, such as wireless VoIP and streaming multimedia. SNMPv3 for Element Management System messaging: Provides secure access to devices by authenticating & encrypting packets over the network to provide the most robust message integrity. MeshManager EMS: Leverages powerful & proven MeshManager element mgnt. System Manages configuration, performance, fault mitigation and security for Motorola Mesh Networks. Java-based GUI affords point-and-click tools. Device Manager allows you to add and configure all mesh nodes from any secure LAN connection Manage workflow automation and OTA. Remote automated firmware updates: Schedule OTA updates at low-peak times. Secure Shell Telnet: Supports IETF SSH standard Provides encrypted password and secure Telnet session (security against “sniffers”)

7 Dual Radio Expandability
The customer can purchase the unit as a 2.4GHz only unit. The capacity is split between client access traffic and backhaul traffic dynamically. Backhaul can be via Canopy, Fiber or other options. As capacity needs increase, the customer can enable the 5.8GHz backhaul radio, providing simultaneous client access and backhaul in separate bands.
