That’s exactly what has happened in Syria.
Imagine more than half the people of the United States fleeing their homes because of war. That’s exactly what has happened in Syria.

Many have fled to neighboring countries like Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey.
In fact, more than 1.2 million Syrian refugees are now living in Lebanon. Many walked there. 60% of them are children.

War upsets everyone’s lives. Nothing is normal, everyone suffers.
Including the children.

But the Church in Syria/Lebanon is doing something to help the children.
They’ve started schools so the refugee children can learn and have normalcy in their lives.

The National Evangelical (Presbyterian) Synod of Syria and Lebanon, through its four schools, provides school for more than 225 Syrian refugees ages 6 – 11. The majority of the children are Muslim and many have never been to school.

The schools use the Syrian Education Curriculum so when the students rejoin their schools back home, they will be current in Arabic, math, science, ethics and English.

Each school day begins with worship:
a prayer, a hymn and a Bible story The love of Christ is being made known to these children and to their families…
