1.TALES AND STORIES: vocabulary and structures are contextualized, natural repetition, simple grammar, predictable, introduces socio-cultural knowledge. Functions: psychological and didactical. Beginning: Comenious 17th c, La Fontaine 18th c, J.J. Rosseau. Traditional tales: Perrault 17th, The Grimm Brothers and Hans Christian Andersen 19th c. Modern tales: Lewis Carrol, Oscar Wilde, J.M.Barrie, Beatrix Potter, A. A.Milne, 19th century. Children´s novels: Daniel Defoe and J. Swift 18th c. Jules Verne, R.L.Stevenson and Ruyard Kipling 19th c. R. Dahl and J.K.Rowling 20th c. Storybooks: words,events,images,improvisation,entertainment,education, cultural preservation,moral values.Educational objectives,use of kinesthetic techniques.

UNIT 15 2. Other Genres: Nursery Rhymes. Watts, Ann and Jane Taylor 18th c.R.Browing, E.Lear and R.L.Stevenson 19th c. Riddles and Limericks. 3. Typology of texts: genre, content, presentation,authentic versus adapted texts. Selecting criteria: level, vocabulary, structures and functions, interesting subject, amusing and easy to remember.Stimulate curiosity, colourful, attractive and according for the age. 4. Didactic application: Techniques, Listening training, 3ps stages, CLT, LCA, TPR. Intensive, extensive reading, dialogues, role-play, dramatization. 5.Communicative activities: interactive, unpredictable and within a context. Grading according to the student´s level and characteristics.
