Africa One-Pager What to Do:
1. Use unlined white paper. You MUST fill the whole page – NO WHITE SPACE!!! 2. Pull out two facts and write them on the page. Use the proper format. Please include visuals and commentary to explain why you chose these facts. 3. Use a visual image to create a central focus to your page. 4. Scatter 5-7 vocabulary words/phrases around the image. 5. Make a personal statement about what you read or saw. 6. Ask two questions and answer them. 7. Put a border around the edges of the page. Make the border symbolic. No wider than 1 inch thick. 8. Create the one pager in such a way that your audience will understand something of your thinking and what you have chosen to present. 9. Use colored pens, pencils, markers (sparingly), and/or the computer. The more visually appealing, it is the more your peers can learn. Write your name on the front. 10. Be purposeful about the arrangement of your one pager. For example, have a reason for using a certain color or for placing an object in a certain place.

Africa DBQ Bell Ringer Collapse: Mali & Songhai __ "Sometimes history seems to repeat itself. The rise and fall of two medieval kingdoms of West Africa is an example of this. Mali and Songhai, as well as the smaller kingdom of Ghana before them, were once great trading kingdoms famous for their gold. Yet despite their greatness, they each declined for similar reasons." Draw a conclusion on why these three empires fell apart using support from this excerpt. Answer: Greed from the gold Loss of control over the trade of gold Weakening power over gold History Crossing Copyright 2013
