Basic Information All Juniors will take the ACT (without Writing): English, Math, Reading, Science (highest score is 36, and scores are averaged to calculate a composite score) Test scores will be submitted to selected colleges Scores can be used as a “graduation pathway” English – 18, Reading – 22, Math - 22

Pre-Registration Students will pre-register during English classes
Be prepared to indicate up to 4 colleges to receive scores…this is not required Know your address, , and grades in classes taken at Hayes

Students will be assigned a testing room by last name in the 2100 wing
On Test Day Hayes will have a reduced day schedule from 7:25 – 10:50, including a lunch period All Juniors will report to their testing locations at 10:50 to be checked in and ready to take their test Students arriving to their testing room after 11:00 AM will not be admitted and will lose the opportunity to take the ACT for free Students will be assigned a testing room by last name in the 2100 wing

On Test Day Bring a calculator…check to make sure it is an approved calculator Bring No. 2 pencils although some will be provided BRING YOUR SCHOOL or STATE ID/DRIVER’s LICENSE!!! Turn OFF your cell phone and store it OFF of your body! Put them in backpacks stored in your testing room. Electronic devices being used or interrupting testing is grounds for dismissal from the room.

How Do Colleges Use ACT? Admission – many colleges have a minimum composite score they require Scholarships – the higher the ACT and GPA the better the scholarship
