CAREER TRANSITION OFFICE (CTO) CWAY Approved SELRES quota Approved 1306 from SELRES ECM If less than 30 days from SEAOS Reserve Enlisted Manning Initiative (Approvals provided to CTO via NRC) Delayed Affiliation Program (DAP) (90 days prior/ Reserve a future quota) MILPERSMAN There are two vehicles for a Sailor to use to transition from the Active Component to the Reserve Component The CTO and 2. A Navy recruiter. I imagine most of you are familiar with the process through recruiting. I am not a recruiter nor have I ever been a recruiter so I’m not going to attempt to describe their process. Transitioning via the CTO offers the benefit of a streamlined process which significantly reduces the time required to be “gained” in the Reserve Component. A faster gain into the RC means Sailors are able to drill sooner and become eligible for RC benefits sooner. Transitions via the CTO are for those Sailors who have been approved for a SELRES quota via PTS. By selecting the SELRES option Sailors are screened for SELRES quotas through community management. The SELRES community manager notifies the CTO of approved Sailors so that we can begin our transition process. Recruit Once – Retain for Life 2
