Complementary The color scheme that uses two colors that are directly opposite each other on the color wheel. Example: - Red and Green - Blue and Orange

Split Complementary The color scheme that combines one color with the two colors on each side of its compliments. Use three colors

Triad The color scheme that uses any three colors that are an equal distance apart on the color wheel. Examples: Red, Yellow, Blue - Orange, Green, Purple

Activity Step 1: Grab a piece of paper and write your name on it Step 2: You will need to create 4 color schemes (they all need to be different). Step 3: You will create 4 color schemes by using markers, color pencils, or crayons. – Not this: cutting out pieces of color from paint sample cards. *Label your color schemes and each individual Colors the color you want it to be* -- If you write Orange and it looks like Orange-Yellow, I’ll take it for Orange
