The first national professional development program for geoscience faculty in 2YCs
SAGE 2YC: Faculty as Change Agents ( ) Build a national network of local communities of 2YC geoscience faculty who catalyze change at multiple levels Implement evidence-based strategies to improve academic success of all students facilitate professional pathways of students into the geoscience workforce broaden participation in the geosciences Investigate models of professional development for full- time and adjunct 2YC geoscience faculty Highlight the following points now or later: four years, teams, evidence-based strategies focusing on change agents and what they will do, expanded PD support (multiple doses), inclusion of administrators, sustainable (2nd cohort), build leadership

Project Activities For Change Agents By Change Agents Workshops
Ongoing themes Supporting students success Professional pathways (transfer & careers) Broadening participation Action planning Virtual Activities Webinar series Journal clubs Implementation groups Mentoring & support Project personnel and peer mentoring and community support Involvement of administrators in workshop and on campus On Campus Work to support each of the project strands in their teaching Work on geoscience program to support project strands, working with FT and PT geoscience faculty and with administrators and other units on campus In Region Organize community network Lead workshop following from Change Agent workshops customized for local setting (fall) Offer follow-on activity (spring) We will have a series of Change Agent workshops designed around the broad goals of the project: supporting success of all students (through geoscience teaching and beyond), broadening participation, and facilitating professional pathways (careers and transfer). And within the workshops we will discuss how best to engage your partners (on campus and in the community) An important part of each Change Agent workshop will be time to develop both individual and team action plans for the upcoming year. Between workshops we will continue to develop our community with a series of virtual activities that will support the workshop themes and the actions that each individual and team have identified in their plans. On return to your campus after the workshops, you will work to implement change both within your courses and at the program level. Additionally your team will reach out to your regional geoscience community and provide them with professional development activities that will allow them to implement some of what you have learned from this project. Questions for us?

Follow-up questions for you
What initiatives are underway at your campus or institution that are well-aligned with the faculty Change Agents' work for the SAGE 2YC project? What campus or institutional resources do you know about that the faculty Change Agents could tap into to support their work on the SAGE 2YC project? What assistance might you be able to provide to faculty Change Agents to help them overcome any barriers to change in the context of the three strands of the project: improving all students' academic success, broadening participation in the geosciences, and facilitating students' professional pathways into the STEM workforce? Please complete survey by Monday, June 13: serc.carleton.edu/sage2yc/workshops/june2016/admin_questions.html
