6 Unit 1: Oracy Task 2 (10% of qualification)
Pupils may choose their own title under one of the five topics. The presentation must be between 5-7 minutes long. Giving a purpose for a talk is really important to avoid blow-by-blow accounts that do not interest or engage, e.g. to persuade someone to try your hobby rather than just give information about it.

7 Unit 2: Description, Narration and Exposition
Spend time explaining the following: Continuous / non-continuous texts (next slide helps) Text purposes of description – not descriptive! – narration and exposition

8 Unit 3: Argumentation, Persuasion and Instruction
Go through similarities in question types and text types – it is the purpose of texts that is different. As with Unit 2, continuous and non-continuous texts will be used. As with Unit 2, this unit tests Reading and Writing skills. 5-6 texts will be given as resource material for use with Section A of both papers.
