Fig. 1 Aquarium (38l) set-up for the behavioural experiments. One fish was placed in each of the compartments A and C. The behaviour of the two fish was video filmed for 10min before feed was introduced into compartment B, the transparent walls separating the compartments were carefully removed, and video filming continued for 5min.
