Imports: Goods and services that are bought from other countries
Exports: Goods and services that are sold to other companies

4. International Currency
Canada: Dollar
China: Renminbi
Europe: Euro
France: Franc
Greece: Drachma
Japan: Yen
Mexico: Peso
South Africa: Rand
South Korea: Won
UK: Pound
Venezuela: Bolivar

5. Barriers to international trade
Quotas: Limit on quantity of an item that can be imported or exported
Tariff: Tax that the government places on imported products
Embargo: Complete stoppage of goods being imported from other countries

6. Government in the US economy
Government as a protector!!!!
Contracts- an agreement to exchange goods and services for something of value… usually MONEY!
Intellectual Property- It cannot be seen or touched. Includes patents, copyrights, and trademarks
Patent- Gives the inventor of a product the exclusive right to make, use or sell that item for a period of 17 years

7. Public utility is an organization that supplies a good or service that all citizens need and use.

Governments provide a number of goods and services for citizens…

9. Business Ethics and Social Responsibilities
Code of ethics- a statement of rules that is written to guide the behavior of employees or members of an organization.
Ethical Behavior- largely determined and must be demonstrated by top management.
Bribery- a forced payment be demeanded of money or a favor required before an official decision maker will make a favorable decision. BRIBERY IS ILLEGIAL IN MOST COUNTRIES SUCH AS THE UNITED STATES.
