Objectives Support the THEMIS science and EPO missions by supplying science grade, ground based magnetometers. Support the THEMIS EPO mission by building, installing and maintaining 10 ground based magnetic observatories in high schools across the US.

UCLA supplies basic magnetometer, power supply, sensor and GPS receiver. UCB integrates. UCB and Calgary install. GPS-Only Units. UCLA supplies GPS data handling unit, power supply and GPS receiver. UCB integrates. UCB and Calgary install. EPO Magnetometers UCLA supplies basic magnetometer, power supply, sensor, GPS receiver, PC, UPS, power strip and remote boot device. UCLA integrates and installs.

Antenna and Electronics Integrated into one package May be located >30M from host (RS422 signals) NTP compatible (1msec time accuracy) Observatory Support system Dell PC provides >3yrs archival, real time display, “real-time” data broadcast over internet, and remote troubleshooting/service over internet. Belkin 375Watt UPS provides >15 minutes power outage protection with orderly shutdown. iBoot provides remote (over internet) control of power cycling of PC and magnetometer.
