Skype for Business provides an integrated experience with the following: Flexibility of Communications Mode – Instant Messaging, Voice, Video, Conference Ability to Communicate Anywhere – Office, Conference Room, Remote Office, Hotel, Mobile Improvement in Collaboration/Productivity – Presence, Quick Desktop Sharing, Ad-hoc Conferencing Ease of use, across all devices – Desktop, Mobile, Room Units

All users, by default, are set up with a Skype for Business account All users, by default, are set as Presenters; no need to wait for the host to start the meeting Create a new meeting space for confidential or back-to-back meetings or use your dedicated meeting ID number Skype for Business Web App for non-Gilead computers

Meeting Defaults Not replacing WebEx at this time New meeting space (unique conf. ID) No one has the wait in the Lobby Anyone from my organization is a Presenter No entry/exit announcement Participants muted on entry Audio tone & visual alert when your line is muted or unmuted Conference ID will be 7 digits or less Note: If a Skype for Business meeting was scheduled, and the meeting changes to in-person or WebEx, you will need to cancel the meeting and recreate. By default your meeting will be set up with a unique meeting space. Which means each meeting will have a unique conference ID.

22 Skype Audio Tips If joining a call with other attendees sitting in the same room, ensure only one computer (or the conference room phone) is dialed into the audio portion of the meeting to prevent audio feedback If you ever run into issues using your audio headset, remember you can always dial in using a traditional telephone. If joining over remote VPN and are having issues, you can always disconnect from VPN and join again over an Internet connect to improve the performance Use a SfB or Lync-optimized audio device (headset) for best audio & microphone quality experience Select audio device and test call quality prior to initiating a call Do not use Skype for Business for 911 or any other emergency calls
