How much is blue? x 2 3 4 6 8 = x 2 These fractions are equivalent (equal value) You get twice as many slices, but they’re half the size, so it’s the same amount.

To add two fractions: 1) Make the denominators the same.
(by changing to an equivalent fraction: multiply top and bottom by the same number) 2) Add the numerators.
