Include title of novel, author’s FULL name (the first time, then only last name)
Background info about story
2-3 sentences maximum.
DO NOT retell the whole story.
Last sentence=THESIS (your opinion, the point you are trying to prove)

4. Hook 1st sentence Catch reader’s attention
Can be a quotation (cited correctly), interesting statement, or question.
Doesn’t have to be cheesy, can be direct.
