Marc Chagall was born in Russia. Chagall’s parents were supportive of his passion of art, painting, printmaking, stained glass and designing.

Joseph Pickett was born in New Hope, Pennsylvania. He lived in New Hope his entire life. Although he painted a great deal, Picket has only 5 known paintings.

Pickett spent most of his life as a carpenter, shipbuilder, carny and storekeeper. He first started painting when he was 65 years old! Pickett was known for his landscape paintings and depictions of towns.
