6 IB Exams 4 HL and 2 SL, or 3 HL and 3 SL Most IB courses offered in two-year sequences Creativity, Action, and Service Project Theory of Knowledge - Critically examine different ways of knowing (perception, emotion, language, and reason) and different kinds of knowledge (scientific, artistic, mathematical, and historical). Extended Essay - Requirement for students to engage in independent research through an in-depth study of a question relating to one of the subjects they are studying. Although not mandatory to pursue IB credits, the IB diploma is offered to our students. Here are the various diploma requirements. However, many students enroll in IB classes that they are proficient in and do not pursue the IB diploma. For example, while at MVHS, many of my students enrolled in IB English, IB History, while others enrolled in the IB Math and IB Science classes. IB Diploma candidates also IBCC - not offered at all schools
