SMART Goal Specific – i.e. increase by 10%, have less than 5%, 3 or more… Measureable – grades, tests, contacts, level of lessons… Attainable – Stretch yourself, but don’t set the bar at a point that you know is not attainable Realistic – Have a narrow focus and something you have variable control on the outcome. Time – Be able to state when you will be able to see the results.

Examples of Goals I will increase my students performance on the AP Poetry Analysis Essay, Prose Analysis Essay, and Open - Ended Response Essay by achieving a group mean of 4.0 on the Poetry Analysis Essay, 4.3 mean on the Prose Analysis Essay, and 4.3 mean on the Open - Ended Response Essay by Wednesday, May 3rd. I will increase the achievement of my LEP students, Hispanics, and African American populations by checking student progress every 6 weeks. I will increase communication with parents every 6 weeks by contacting a minimum of 3 parents per 6 weeks and sending out a 6 weeks newsletter to my parents. I will increase Special Education student’s access and progress in the general curriculum, demonstrated by all students meeting passing standards on the Algebra 1 EOC. I will reduce the number of my referrals by 25% compared to last year, by implementation of PBIS Intervention.
