Key Themes of SPM11.1.1 (GA Sept. 15, 2015)
Forecasting Causal Forecast Failure Rate And BOM Views Composite Forecast GUI Enable Outlier Analysis For Intermittent Parts New Graphing Package ABC Segments Based On Forecasts Inventory Optimization Combined Multi-indenture Availability Optimization And Fill Rate Optimization Customer Wait Time SKU Constraints Rotable Pool Fill Rate Enhancements Part Budget Summary Report Part Criticality Multiplier In Bang For Buck Calculation Overrides To Production Workflow Churn Control Enhancements Order Planning / iPWS Part Chain Improvements iPWS Workqueue Pair/Part Reviewed Status iPWS Availability For All Pairs iPWS Deployment Tab And Usability Improvements
4
SPM 11.1.1: Key Forecasting Enhancements
5
Forecasting: Causal Forecasting GUI
GUI ability to view/add/modify/delete Product BOMs and Failure rates Hierarchical BOM view for multi-level BOMs Completes the main views to review data behind causal forecasts
6
Forecast Based ABC Classification
Ability to classify pairs based on item’s Forecast and Forecast Value Ability to use not only the classification but the attribute value as well in segmentation, such as 12 month demand < 1, or 3 month forecast >1 Very useful in creating stocking business rules
7
Composite Forecast GUI
Ability to create, review and assign profiles in GUI
8
New Graphing package for Demand (Forecast) pages
Using modern Zing chart library Easy to see demand, forecast and archived forecast profile Demand page layout improvements with data table on left divided in two logical sections for inputs and output.
9
Demand Graph with less details

SPM 11.1.1: Key Inventory Optimization Enhancements
12
Multi-Indenture Multi-Echelon Availability Optimization
Product Uptime (Availability) Optimization across indentures and echelons Coordinated stocking of assemblies, subassemblies, components trading of cost, repair time, commonality of components, service targets etc. in a supply chain using replacement rate data Contract Based Availability and Wait time targets SPM is the only planning system with this functionality, critical for Defense and PBL (such as power by the hour), interest in Hi-tech also.
13
Optimization to Customer Wait Time Targets
Ability to set average wait time (demand response time) targets for a service group or SKUs in addition to fill rate and availability targets Adds an important dimension to service targets, that is frequency used in service entitlements of our customers Key functionality in A&D and PBL, also useful in MRO and distribution environments
14
Rotable Pool Optimization
Optimal placement of a specified rotable pool size or current inventory with in a specified group of locations (local, regional or global pool) Rotable pool report to review the overview of the pool and details of pool locations Ability to set a pool fill rate target that measures service based on pooled inventory and allocate inventory optimally in network Competitive advantage in a important business need for Hi-tech and A&D
15
Scenario Part Multi-period Budget Report
Cash flow (procurement and repair) and service projections based on multi-period optimization for any Part Helps analyzing cash flow details at part level in addition to scenario level
16
Key Inventory Optimization Enhancements (cont.)
Enhanced Multi-Period Churn Control Optimization Multi-period churn control optimization to reduce churn and minimize new buys by making best use of existing inventory Further improvements in (10/28/2015) Use of Criticality to Influence Optimization Criticality specified for a part at a location can be used to give higher or lower priority to certain items. Helps our customers to move inventory investment from less critical to more critical parts in a systematic manner Production Scenario Improvements Ease of applying overrides directly to production.
17
SPM 11.1.1: Key Order Plan Enhancements
18
Order Planning/ IPWS enhancements
Chain transfer improvements for Alternate Parts Higher utilization of downchain alternate part inventory One-click ‘Part/Pair Reviewed’ action in iPWS Review Board Saves time, user clicks and increases user productivity when navigating between work queue items by avoiding having to visit the same part again IPWS: Full Page availability for no activity (Non-GAP) pairs Planners can now make use of full iPWS functionality for such pairs, e.g. review existing data (such as demand and forecast), add notes, view review reasons, etc. Manual order entry enables planners to ‘kick-start’ planning IPWS: Time Series Grid Improvements ‘Unfulfilled Replenishment Need’ added to ‘Total Requirements’ in Time Series Grid for better visibility of child location’s remaining needs Red highlighting of negative numbers
19
Order Planning/ IPWS enhancements
IPWS: Enhanced Deployment tab Inbound and out bound replenishment and balancing orders in deployment tab Future Sales Orders and Procurement/Repair recommendations Context links in deployment section IPWS: Highlighting and Counts of Conditions Highlighting existence of sales orders, sales returns, backorders and journal entries Graphing Custom time series Ability to see custom time series data in graphs IPWS: Enhanced Inventory Position section Easy to understand netting of Supply and Requirements for trigger planned pairs On Demand details such as chain transfers
