One of the traditions of Azerbaijan is a tea ceremony.Tea is served in “ armudu” glass which is in the shape of a pear. The Azerbailanis like to have tea mostly with lemon.They like having tea with shakarbura, pakhlava and different kinds of sweets, pastries.

Water is boiled in various ways ,in particular ,in heated metal containers known as Samovars. The smell and taste of fresh tea is unique and inimitable.

The national food range also includes many dishes from rice.

Christmas Christmas Day is a holiday in many, but not all, countries. Many homes have Christmas trees and other decorations in the weeks leading to Christmas Day. Some workplaces hold Christmas parties prior to December 25. Festive activities include exchanging presents, singing Christmas songs, going to parties. It's a special time when children get presents from family, friends and Santa Claus, or Father Christmas. Christmas cards are also given or sent out prior to Christmas Day.

Maslenitsa This holiday lasts for a week. Russian people celebrate it at the end of February or at the beginning of March. They say “goodbye” to winter in these days. During the “Maslenitsa week” they always cook pancakes. It is a tradition to cook pancakes and eat them with fish, sour cream, honey, sugar, butter. People prepare fires and burn straw scarecrows of winter.

Easter It is a religious holiday. Easter symbolizes the Revival of Jesus Christ. Easter which celebrates Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead , is Christianity ‘s most important holiday.It has been called , a moveable feast because it doesn’t fall on a set date every year , as most holidays do.Instead , a Christian churches in the West celebrate Easter on the firs Sunday following the moon after the vernal equniox on March 21 .Therefore , Easter is observed anywhere between March 22 and April 25 every year.

BRITISH TRADITIONS Every country has its own traditions and customs. In Britain traditions play a very important role in the life of people. The British are proud of their traditions and keep them carefully.

Britain is full of culture and traditions which have been around for hundreds of years.
It is known that the English are stay-at-home people. “There is no place like home”, they say. When they don't work they like to spend their days off at home with their families.

Guy Fawkes” Night Guy Fawkes” Night is observed on the 5th of November when people in Britain light fireworks and burn a straw guy on a bonfire. This celebration is often associated with collecting money for charity.

English meals They say that English people keep their traditions even in meals. They eat eggs and bacon with toasts for breakfast, pudding or apple pie for dessert. Porridge is the dish Englishmen are very fond of. Many of them eat porridge with milk and sugar for breakfast.
