Agenda What’s the interoperability problem; what is “a CDB” and how does it solve the interoperability problem Major CDB Use Cases: Run-time format for high performance simulation and mission rehearsal systems Refined source data repository for multiple external re-use Current Status: Vote in Tokyo TC meetings 3DIM DWG Closing Plenary Existing CDB documents were reformatted, with OGC copyright, and posted to Pending Documents Copyright © 2015 Open Geospatial Consortium

7 What is CDB? Open, public-domain specification, based on broadly-used industry formats in folder/file structure (geotiff, JP2, shapefiles, OpenFlight, RGB, XML, etc.) CDB is designed to support both runtime applications and source data storage needs Optimized for rapid generation/update/deployment CDB Specification first released on Nov 2005 CDB is a folder/file system convention that supports rapid access to non-proprietary file formats for concurrent use on multiple simulation systems Enables simulation clients to modify the CDB at the data store in run time In use today in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Israel, Turkey, Australia, Singapore, Brunei No relational database File system direct access in Windows or Linux
