2 -The location of Poznan-
*Our city is situated in the western part of Poland on the Warta River. *It is one of the oldest and the biggest Polish cities. *It has got many years of traditions. *In Poznan there are inhabitants. *It has got many beautiful places.

3 Educational offers Poznan is an academic city, which attracts thousands of students coming from the whole Poland. In Poznan there are a few state universities: *Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan *Poznan University of Medical Sciences University of Life Sciences in Poznań University of Economics University of Medicine University of Music There are many other private high schools

4 -International meetings & projects-

5 -Transport- Poznań has an extensive public transport system, consisting of trams and urban and suburban buses. The main railway station is Poznań Central Station with national and international connections. There is also a smaller Poznań Garbary station. The main east-west A2 motorway runs south of the city; other main roads run in the directions of such cities as Warsaw,Bydgoszcz,Wągrowiec, Oborniki, Katowice, Wrocław, Buk and Berlin. An intensive programme of road building and improvement in and around the city is underway in preparation for the hosting of matches in the Euro 2012 football championships. 6 -Climate- The climate of Poznań is continental humid with relatively cold winters and fairly hot summers. Snow is common in winter while a night-time temperature usually drops below zero. In summer a temperature may often reach 30 °C (86 °F). Annual rainfall is less than 500 mm, one of the lowest in Poland. 7 -Animals- Interior of the New Zoological Garden One of our inhabitiants Poznan is one of the few cities which boasts as many as two zoological gardens: the Old Zoological Garden and the New Zoological Garden. In our city animals are in the best hands of people who really care about them.

8 -Cultural life of Poznan-
Poznan is full of cultural life. If you come here,you can go to numerous theathres, cinemas, museums and a music chamber. You can spend a nice time in: -Poznan National Museum -Museum of Applied Arts -Museum of History of Poznań -Wielkopolska Military Museum -Museum of Musical Instruments -Archeology Museum -Ethnography Museum

10 -Poznan as a very green city-
The truth is that Poznan is very green city. In our city you can go to: -Palm House - the Poznan Tropical Plants Exhibition is the largest of its kind in Poland. The first green house with a total size of 534 square meters was built in The Botanical Garden is a research and teaching division of Adam Mickiewicz University, considered to be one of the most modern and beautiful gardens of its type in Europe. Covering more than 22 hectares, it contains an imposing collection of over 7,000 species and varieties of plants from almost every climate zone of vegetation around globe.

11 -The places you must see…
When you come to our city, you must visit a few very popular and beautiful places, for example: *The Old Town Market - dating back from 1253,it is one of the most representative symbols of Poznan.The function of the Old Town Market Square has changed over the centuries. Nowadays it is not only a commercial centre filled with banks and cafes, pubs and restaurants, but a cultural centre. Every June the spot is vibrant with life as the St. John's Feast Fair is held here. Moreover, throughout summer lots of other cultural events are held here. *The Cathedral Island - Officially named the Archicathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul, but it is referred as The Cathedral. It is the oldest cathedral in Poland. Some of the important historical Polish rulers, kings and politicians are buried here including Mieszko I and II, Boleslaw the Brave, Casimir the Restorer, and Przemysl I and II. *The Emperor’s Castle - It was constructed in 1910 by Franz Schwechten for William II, German Emperor, with significant input from William himself. Since its completion, the building has housed government offices of Germany (to 1918 and during the Second World War) and Poland (1918–1939, 1945–up to day).
